Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 18, 2026 · Last updated: August 19, 2026

Time In Focus (“the App”) is developed by Seamless Migration AI LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). This policy explains how the App handles your information.

The Short Version

Time In Focus is built so that we never see your data. Your focus sessions, streaks, goals, tasks, and settings live on your device — not on our servers, because we operate no servers for the App. The App contains no code that sends your data to us or to any third party; its only network activity is App Store subscription processing, performed by Apple’s StoreKit framework under Apple’s privacy policy. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, and no third-party tracking of any kind. We do not sell, rent, share, or trade user data — and we hold essentially none to begin with. The App’s App Store privacy label reads “Data Not Collected,” and this policy explains exactly why that is true.

Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores the following data exclusively on your device. It is never transmitted to us, and we have no ability to access, read, or retrieve it:

  • User preferences: display name, avatar emoji, your selected role or persona from onboarding (optional), theme, accent color, clock format, daily and weekend session goals, notification preferences, selected focus duration, ambient sound and focus visual selections.
  • Session data: focus session history (date and duration), break counts, streaks, daily progress, goal history, install date, and lifetime session statistics.
  • Task data: tasks you create in the App, including descriptions, completion status, and lifetime completion counts.
  • Achievement data: badge and trophy unlock dates and progress toward milestones.
  • Parking Lot notes: thoughts you jot down during a focus session. These are stored on your device and kept until you remove them, clear the list, or reset the timer — they persist so an interruption never loses a thought. You can also share them yourself at any time via the iOS share sheet.
  • Onboarding survey answers (optional): if you choose to complete the optional setup survey, your answers — role category, prior experience with focus techniques, and productivity challenges — are stored only on your device. They are not transmitted to us or to anyone else.
  • Widget and Live Activity state: session state — such as today’s session count, focus minutes, streak, goals, and open task count — together with your Focus Shield settings is shared between the App, its widgets, and its Focus Shield extensions through a private on-device container (an Apple “App Group”). This sharing happens entirely on your device.
  • Crash and hang diagnostics: if the App crashes or hangs, Apple’s MetricKit framework may deliver a diagnostic report to the App on your device. Reports are stored locally, deleted automatically after 30 days, and never transmitted to us. A manual export option exists for troubleshooting; nothing leaves your device unless you explicitly export a report and choose where to send it.

This data remains on your device and under your control. Deleting the App deletes it (see Data Retention below for the one narrow exception).

Free Features, Pro, and the Keychain Counter

The App’s Planner and widgets are free to use. The focus timer, app blocking, the Tracking tab, and Screen Time reports are part of the Pro subscription, which new members can begin with a free introductory period processed entirely by Apple (see Subscriptions and Payments below).

An earlier version of the App included a small number of complimentary focus sessions, managed by a counter stored in your device’s secure Keychain. That counter may still be present on devices that used those versions. It contains only a number — a count of sessions — and no personal information. The Keychain is used instead of standard app storage, so the counter persists if you delete and reinstall the App. It stays on your device and is never transmitted.

Focus Shield — Screen Time and Family Controls

The App’s Focus Shield feature can block distracting apps, app categories, and websites during your focus sessions — and, if you choose to schedule it, during Protected Time windows you define. It is built on Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks and operates only with your explicit permission, which iOS asks for the first time you enable it.

Focus Shield is designed so that we learn nothing about how you use your device:

  • We never see which apps you choose to block. When you select apps, categories, or websites, iOS gives the App opaque system tokens — the App itself cannot read the names or identities of the apps you selected.
  • Your selection stays on your device. The blocklist, shield schedule, and any Protected Time rules are stored in the App’s private on-device container and nowhere else.
  • We do not collect, log, or transmit any Screen Time information — not your app choices, not when shields activate, not what you attempt to open during a session. None of it ever leaves your device.
  • Your Screen Time information is never used for advertising, never used for analytics or measurement, and never shared with anyone, including data brokers.

You can revoke the App’s Screen Time permission at any time in iOS Settings under Screen Time, which immediately disables Focus Shield.

Optional Calendar Access

The App can optionally show today’s calendar events — such as your next meeting — alongside the timer, so you can plan focus sessions around your day. If you enable this, iOS asks for your permission with the standard calendar prompt.

Calendar access is read-only in practice: the App reads today’s events solely to display them, does not create or modify calendar events, and never stores your events or transmits them anywhere — they are held in memory only while displayed. You can revoke calendar access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars, and the App works fully without it.

Subscriptions and Payments

The App offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions (“Pro Monthly” and “Pro Yearly”), which may include a free trial period. All purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store and Apple’s StoreKit framework.

We do not collect, process, store, or have access to any payment information, credit card numbers, billing addresses, or Apple Account credentials. Billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are managed exclusively by Apple under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. The App determines your subscription status from a cryptographic entitlement provided by Apple on your device — we operate no server that validates receipts, and we never receive your identity or payment details.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions.

Support and Feedback Emails

If you choose to contact us — for example, through the App’s optional “send a note” feedback prompt — the App opens a draft email in your own mail app, pre-filled with context that helps us help you: App version and build number, iOS version, device model, your selected role (if you provided one), subscription tier, and lifetime session count. Everything in the draft is visible to you and editable; nothing is sent unless you choose to send it.

If you do send it, we receive only what you sent, and we use it solely to respond to you and improve the App. You may ask us to delete your support correspondence at any time (see Your Rights and Choices).

Notifications, Live Activities, and Widgets

All App notifications — session completion alerts and optional daily reminders — are local notifications, generated and scheduled entirely on your device. The App does not use remote push notifications and never registers a push token with any server. The App’s Live Activity (the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island timer) and Home Screen widgets are updated by the App on your device. No server is involved.

You can enable or disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Time In Focus.

Information We Do Not Collect

To be explicit, the App does not collect:

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or mailing addresses
  • Account credentials of any kind — the App has no accounts and no sign-in
  • Apple Account information
  • Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, or hardware identifiers)
  • Location data
  • Contacts, photos, or other personal files
  • Calendar events (if you grant optional calendar access, events are read and displayed on your device only — see Optional Calendar Access above)
  • Camera or microphone input (the App never requests either; ambient sounds are playback only)
  • Screen Time or app-usage data (see Focus Shield above)
  • Browsing history or data from other applications
  • Biometric or health data
  • Analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry transmitted off your device
  • Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data

The App contains no third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking technologies of any kind. Its only software dependencies are Apple’s own system frameworks.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, lease, trade, or share user data with third parties — for advertising, “measurement,” or any other purpose. We have never done so. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act.

The only party that processes data in connection with the App is Apple:

  • App Store / StoreKit: subscription transactions, handled entirely by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
  • iCloud Device Backup (optional, controlled by you): if you have iOS device backups enabled, Apple may include the App’s on-device data in your own device backup, like any other app on your phone. That backup belongs to you, is managed by Apple, and is not accessible to us.

If we are ever legally compelled to disclose information, the scope is inherently limited: we do not possess your focus data and have no technical means to obtain it from your device. The only information we could produce is what you have voluntarily sent us (for example, a support email).

Data Retention and Deletion

  • On-device data: retained on your device until you delete the App or clear its data. Deleting the App removes your sessions, tasks, preferences, survey answers, and all other App data from the device. We cannot delete it remotely because we never had it.
  • Keychain counter: the legacy free-session counter persists on your device even if the App is deleted, consistent with iOS Keychain behavior. It contains only a number.
  • Crash diagnostics: stored locally and deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Support emails: retained in our support mailbox only as long as needed to assist you; deleted on request.
  • Subscription records: managed and retained by Apple under Apple’s data retention policies.

Data Security

Because your data stays on your device and is never transmitted to external servers, it is protected by the security built into iOS: device encryption, Keychain encryption, and App Sandbox isolation. There is no Company server holding your data that could be breached, because no such server exists.

No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your device itself — we encourage you to use a device passcode and keep iOS up to date.

Children’s Privacy

The App is a general-audience productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 — and because the App collects no personal information from any user, there is no mechanism by which children’s personal data could be gathered through it.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us through some means (for example, by emailing us), please contact us at the address below so we can delete it.

Your Rights and Choices

Because the App does not collect personal information or maintain user accounts, your privacy rights are satisfied primarily by design — there is no profile of you for us to access, correct, export, or delete. Specifically:

  • Access and deletion of App data: you have direct control over all data the App stores. Delete the App to remove it from your device.
  • Export your data: you can export your full session history as a CSV file from within the App at any time. The file is created on your device and shared only where you choose to send it.
  • Support correspondence: if you have emailed us, you may request a copy or deletion of that correspondence at any time by contacting us at the address below.
  • Focus Shield permission: revoke the App’s Screen Time access at any time in iOS Settings under Screen Time.
  • Calendar permission: revoke at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars.
  • Notifications: manage in iOS Settings → Notifications → Time In Focus.
  • Subscriptions: manage or cancel in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions.

The App is currently offered on the United States App Store. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and other jurisdictions with data protection laws retain all rights those laws provide. Because we do not collect or sell personal information, we believe the App’s practices are consistent with these frameworks by design. If you have questions about your rights under applicable law, please contact us.

Intended Use and Limitations

Time In Focus is designed exclusively as a productivity and task management tool. It is not a medical device, health application, or wellness monitor; it is not designed, validated, or intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of any disease or condition; and it should not be used to time, measure, or monitor any health-related activity, physiological process, medical procedure, or safety-critical operation. The Company expressly disclaims any liability arising from use of the App outside its intended purpose as a productivity timer.

Changes to This Policy

If the App’s data practices ever change — for example, if a future version adds optional iCloud sync or any feature that processes data off your device — we will update this policy before the change takes effect, update the “Last updated” date above, and provide notice in the App where appropriate. The current version of this policy always reflects the App’s current behavior.
